Dear Program Director:

Greetings from wintry Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio community of
the Society for Technical Communication (NEO STC)! We hope that your
semester is off to a wonderful start after a relaxing holiday break.

NEO STC is delighted to announce a $1,000 scholarship we are offering
to a deserving Ohio undergraduate, graduate, community college, or
certificate student studying a technical or scientific
communication-related field. This scholarship, to be used for educational purposes, is
designed to encourage local academic excellence, provide our profession
with educated communicators, and promote greater awareness of and
participation in STC. Applicants will be evaluated based on their potential to
contribute to the profession.

The scholarship committee will accept applications until April 1 and
will notify the winner by May 1. Our winner will also be recognized
publicly at http://www.neostc.org/scholarship and at our May meeting.

We would appreciate if you could announce this scholarship to your
students, direct them to http://neostc.org/scholarship for details and to
download an application, and post the attached promotional poster in
your department. Applicants must submit the following for consideration:

· Application form
· A resume
· A certified copy of their latest transcript from the
school currently or last attended
· A letter of recommendation from a faculty member or
coworker/manager in the field of technical communication
· A one- to three-page cover letter describing their career
goals and significant achievements to date.

(http://www.pressco.com) for donating a portion of the funds for this scholarship. Pressco
Technology Inc. engineers and manufactures high-speed intelligent vision
inspection systems for the global food, beverage, and container industry
and employs our president, Tricia Spayer.
